I. Introduction: The Mission of Direct Aid in Rwanda

Direct Aid is an international charitable non-governmental organization (NGO) of great repute and with a strong commitment to sustain development in Africa. Established in Kuwait in 1981, the NGO has been concentrating its activities across the four major sectors of education, health, poverty alleviation, and humanitarian relief. Present in over thirty African countries, Direct Aid has been very instrumental in the educational reconstruction and community welfare of the Republic of Rwanda, where it has been active for almost three decades.

The importance of education cannot be overstated as it is the most powerful instrument for socio-economic change. To this end, the organization runs several schools in Rwanda, aimed at creating quality learning environments. This prospectus is the outline of the recruitment campaign for the two key positions at two different schools: The ICT Teacher at New Explorers Girls Academy (NEGA) and the Nursery Teacher at AL-SAFWA School, Kiramuruzi. These positions are vital in Direct Aid's pledge to academic excellence and the overall growth of the child.

II. Vacancy 1: ICT Teacher at New Explorers Girls Academy (NEGA)

2.1 School Context: New Explorers Girls Academy (NEGA)

New Explorers Girls Academy (NEGA) located in Bugesera District, Gashora Sector, is a learning institution that aims at producing intellectually and morally strong young women. The need for digital literacy is non-negotiable in the 21st century, hence, the role of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Teacher is at the core of the academy’s curriculum and the future vision to create graduates capable of competing globally.

2.2 Role Description and Strategic Importance

An ICT Teacher is expected to provide students with ICT education of high standards that go hand in hand with Cambridge primary curriculum. The function of this role doesn't end at showing the students the computer basics; it is in fact, about improving the students' advanced digital literacy as well as practical and problem-solving ICT skills to be able to continue their education and get a job in the tech field one day. The candidate who will be chosen for the position will be the one to introduce the use of technology in the whole primary school environment.

2.3 Detailed Duties and Responsibilities

The incumbent will be required to fulfill a range of comprehensive instructional and administrative responsibilities, such as:

Curriculum Delivery: Delivering effectively ICT lessons that are geared towards the standards and scopes of the Cambridge curriculum (Primary Level), thus a motivating and demanding learning experience is ensured.

Preparation and Planning: Coming up with detailed lesson plans, work schemes, and a variety of learning materials that can serve different learning styles and abilities in the classroom.

Assessment and Feedback: Developing and implementing formative and summative assessments that are strong, providing clear, constructive, and achievable feedback to students so that they can be able to track their progress.

Technology Integration: Leading the effort to use technology in teaching different subjects as well as a tool for managing and improving the quality of the school.

Student Management and Welfare: Keeping

good and confidential records of the students (academic and behavioral) as well as providing the students with pastoral care, being their mentor and guide.

Stakeholder Communication: Creating and maintaining professional, good communication lines with parents/guardians, students, and all the school colleagues to be in line with the student progress and the school goals.

2.4 Required Qualifications and Experience

First of all, candidates must have the academic and professional credentials, plus the experience that is necessary:

Academic Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree in ICT, Computer Science, or a related technical field, which is the basis of a qualify deep and up-to-date knowledge of the subject matter.

Teaching Certification: A recognized professional teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent) which is an indication of pedagogical skills and knowledge of classroom management techniques.

Professional Experience: At least two (2) years of teaching experience that can be confirmed

While general experience is valued, practical experience in delivering the Cambridge curriculum is strongly preferred.

Core Competencies: Ability have strong, positive behavior management skills in the classroom and also have great written and spoken communication skills.

III. Vacancy 2: Nursery Teacher at AL-SAFWA School, Kiramuruzi

3.1 School Context: AL-SAFWA School, Kiramuruzi

AL-SAFWA School located in Kiramuruzi plays an important role in giving the community the right basic education. Nursery is the first step in formal education, thus the Nursery Teacher becomes the most important person in a child's educational journey and general growth. The school is committed to creating a friendly, safe, and learning environment.

3.2 Role Description and Pedagogical Focus

It is the Nursery Teacher's job to provide quality early childhood education. This post goes beyond the mere provision of instruction as it requires the creation of a secure, caring, and interesting learning environment that actively supports the holistic development of young children - cognitive, emotional, social, and physical. The teacher is the main organizer of the basic skills and good social behavior.

3.3Detailed Duties and Responsibilities

The duties of a Nursery Teacher involve the developmental aspects of a child, and follows the principles of early years pedagogy:

Instruction and Activity Planning: Preparation and implementation of well-researched lessons and practical learning that are specifically designed for the developmental age of children in the nursery section.

Holistic Development Support: Actively designing the activities and approaches which will systematically support all four main areas: cognitive (early literacy/numeracy), emotional (self-regulation), social (peer interaction), and physical (motor skills).

Assessment and Documentation: Following, evaluating, and documenting each child's developmental stages and individual progress, which is very important when reporting to the parents and planning for future instruction.

Environment Maintenance: Assuring that the classroom is always safe, clean, hygienic, and as friendly to the child as possible, thus, minimizing any risk and maximizing the learning opportunities that arise from the children's spontaneity.

Engagement and Collaboration: Keeping good communication with parents/guardians and the school management regarding the curriculum, behavior, and individual student needs.

Professional Growth: Being a committed and active participant in school-wide programs, staff meetings, and mandatory professional development activities to constantly improve teaching practice.

3.4 Required Qualifications and Experience

With the emphasis on early years education, the following qualifications are essential:

Academic Qualification: An Advanced Level Certificate (A2) with a specialization in Early Childhood Education. This ensures a well-rounded knowledge of pre-school pedagogy.

Professional Experience: The candidate must demonstrate a record of at least three (3) years of verifiable, hands-on experience in successfully teaching the Nursery section.

Core Competencies: Ability to display patience, enthusiasm, creativity in teaching methods, and having great interpersonal skills that are suitable for interacting with young children and their parents.
